There is nothing better than sharing your life with a Jack Russell Terrier. They fill up the house with their large personalities and with your laughter over their comical nature. #1 – Make Them Think

Jack Russells are so very smart and they love using that big brain of theirs. A happy JRT is one who is given things to problem solve throughout the day. You will probably find that your Jack figures out puzzle toys much too quickly and gets bored. They need more serious work like trick training or a sport such as agility. Jesse, the helpful Jack Russell, even does household chores.

#2- Exercise

Jack Russell Terriers are very energetic. If you do not give them an outlet for all that energy, they will destroy your things out of boredom. Making your Jack Russell happy by exercising him will also make you happy. Definitely a win-win for everybody.

#3– Watch Their Legs

Jack Russell Terriers are prone to dislocation of the knee caps and luxating patellas, so to keep yours healthy, you need to pay attention to his athletic antics. This means you should not let yours jump off high places and watch out for those tight turns on slippery surfaces. It’s also a good idea to take your JRT to the vet and have his legs check out. Early detection can prevent worse problems in the future so it’s key to educate yourself on the limitation of your Jack’s legs.
