For anyone that loves dogs, we can’t stand to see them suffer. Not all dogs are fortunate to have a place to call home, and worse, some are cast aside when others no longer want to care for them. When this woman was driving down the highway in Greece, far from any nearby city, she spotted a puppy all alone and afraid. Juts the sight of him broke her heart.

Rather than drive by like so many others did, this woman took the poor puppy into her car and decided to take him to the nearest animal hospital. The puppy was desperately in need of medical attention, and although he was scared, he took to the kind woman. By taking a leap of faith and trusting this stranger, this dog’s life changed–FOREVER!

After being abandoned, the dog (who was named Melios) was still afraid of being alone again.
“You must constantly remind him that being alone in a room is not scary,” his foster family says. “That a door is not a barrier and it doesn’t mean he is banned from the world. A door is something that shows protection and relaxation.”
