Cheetah Cub Gets His Own Rescued Service Dog

| Published on October 13, 2015

Everyone, meet Kumbali and Kago–two adorable friends who have captured the hearts of many.

Kumbali is a Cheetah cub and when he was still 2 weeks old, he was pulled away from his mother because he wasn’t getting enough milk from her. He’s sort of like the runt of the litter. So instead, the zookeepers at Metro Richmond Zoo bottle-fed and cared for him to ensure he’s getting enough nutrients and he’d have a healthy weight. But food was not all Kumbali needed. He needed a companion.

The zookeepers know that dogs make great companions for cheetah cubs. And that’s where Kago comes in. Kago is a Lab mix dog who was rescued by an organization when he was just 10 weeks old.

Kago was then bathed and cleaned to prepare him for his first meeting with Kumbali. Watch the video below and see how these two became the best of friends!

Awww…aren’t they the cutest? They are so adorable that in just 6 days, their YouTube video reached almost 2 millions views!
