Parts of the United States have suffered disastrous tornados with many unlucky to make it out alive. One of these terrifying tornados hit Van, Texas on May 10th, destroying nearly everything in its path, including the home of resident David Tapley. Unfortunately, neighbors realized Tapley and his wife had never emerged from their home before or after the disaster and they went searching for the couple.
A 14-year-old Emmanuel Vasquez would never forget his discovery and neither would his father, Aaron. Upon searching the debris, Vasquez discovered Tapley lying down reaching for his wife, Brenda. Neither, sadly, were still alive. What Vasquez and his father saw next, however, was a slightly brighter picture. Wrapped in Tapley’s other arm was one of their family dogs who was still breathing.
The sweet dog refused to leave his family until rescuers arrived. Without the help of Vasquez and his father and brother, this poor dog may have not have made it through the tragedy that took his family.
