Our dogs give us emotional support. They lift our spirits when we are down. They are amazing at giving us a confidence boost too!
A 9-year-old girl named Averie Mitchell has her dog, Hattie, to give her the confidence boost that she needs. Averie’s leg was amputated when she was still a baby due to a rare bone condition. Ever since then, Averie has had a prosthetic leg.
Averie’s mom noticed that people stare at Averie’s leg. She decided to adopt a dog who has the same condition to give Averie a companion who will give her confidence.

When Averie met Hattie, she immediately fell in love with her. “Mom, Hattie’s just like me.” was what Averie said when she first saw the dog.

The bond between the two was instantaneous. And since then, the two had become best buddies!
And now Hattie the dog who’s also missing a right a leg is now getting a prosthetic leg from the same prosthetist that made Averie’s prosthetic leg. Check out the video below!
