Jim Tavaré is a British actor best known for comedic performances on ITV’s The Sketch Show and his role as Tom the Innkeeper in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
On March 6 he was in a horrific head-on collision while driving with his dog, Mr. Kippy in Los Angeles. He sustained a punctured lung, broken neck, 15 fractured ribs and multiple other broken bones.
After a 2-week hospital stay that included blood transfusions and the first of multiple surgeries, Tavaré was well enough to be wheeled outside to see his beloved pup, who was miraculously unscathed by the accident.
The following video shows their heartwarming reunion. Tavaré clutches Mr. Kippy to his chest and openly breaks down in tears. Anyone who has survived a devastating injury or illness can surely relate to his wave of emotions. It’s also quite clear that Mr. Kippy is ecstatic to see his dad again!
Tavaré expressed his gratitude for all the well wishes and words of encouragement he has received from friends and fans all over the world during the past few difficult weeks.
He has a long road to recovery ahead, but he is thankful to have escaped with his life – and, of course, for the unconditional love of his best friend, Mr. Kippy! We’re sure the little cutie will be an excellent source of comfort and support as Tavaré recuperates.
