Tyler Wilson was stopping to fill up his gas tank at a local Kentucky gas station when a friendly Labrador Retriever came wandering over to greet him. Fearing for the dog’s safety, he was happy to see the pooch had ID tags on his collar. When he checked them, however, it wasn’t the typical name and phone number he was expecting to find. Instead there was a funny little note that read, “My name is Dew. I am not lost. I like to roam. Tell me to go home.”

Turns out that Dew is actually a bit of a local celebrity, wandering around town and greeting people wherever he goes. He’s known for making friends everywhere, all while going home to his loving family at the end of the day.

“Dew loves to make new friends,” his family tells The Dodo. “Fortunately, Dew is chipped and wears a GPS tracker so when his sneaky little self gets out and about, we always know where he is! He just likes to spread the love.”

Knowing Dew was safe and cared for, Wilson didn’t immediately tell him to return home. Instead, they hung out for a little while. Wilson pet and even hugged Dew, taking pictures and posting them to Twitter. In fact, he tells The Dodo he’s going to Dew’s 70-acre farm to visit him. “I am going to see the owners again soon, this week or next, to see Dew,” he states. Although we do have some concern for Dew’s safety, it seems that he does live with a loving family and has an entire town to watch out for him.
