Army Private First Class Katelyn Gallagher describes her 5-year-old Bloodhound, Buck as her “son” and her “best friend”.
She raised the good-natured, one-hundred-pound dog from the time he was 9 months old until it came time for her to leave for military training in May.
She entrusted Buck’s care to a family friend named Angelo Sullo, but when she returned home for the holidays Gallagher learned that Sullo had either sold or given her beloved dog away. In an interview with Fox 8, she said:
“I am not upset with the people who may have him because I am sure they don’t know. But I really want him back.”
Sullo has refused to give Gallagher any more information about Buck’s whereabouts, but claims that the whole situation is just a misunderstanding. Gallagher reported him to Cleveland Police and he is currently facing a petty theft charge for his actions.
As of this week, Gallagher has reported back for active duty without any knowledge as to what’s become of Buck. She is hoping that someone will see the posters she has placed around town and come forward with information.
