Police Officers Pay Their Respects Outside The Vet Clinic For Fallen K9

In Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, a K9 officer died after being fatally stabbed.

The incident happened at around 3:30 in the afternoon when a 37-year-old man named Bruce Kelley Jr. and his father, 60-year-old Bruce Kelley Sr got into a fight. The two were drinking at a gazebo before the incident happened.

Police arrived at the scene, and there was a scuffle between the police officers and the two men. During the scuffle, Kelley Jr. was able to escape and police quickly called for backup.

When they found Kelley Jr., they tried to taser him but it didn’t work because of his thick jacket. The police then released K9 officer Aren, who then was stabbed by Kelley Jr.

Aren wasn’t wearing a protective vest at that time. He was quickly brought to the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty Emergency Center in Ohio Township. It was at the vet clinic that Aren died from his fatal stab wounds.

In the video below, you can see Aren’s remains being carried to his partner’s car for his final ride. Police officers were waiting outside to pay their respects.

As for Kelley Jr., he died at the scene when he was shot by police officers after he stabbed Aren.

To honor Aren, a memorial service was held at the Pittsburgh’s North Shore. Hundreds of Police officers and their K9s gathered to honor him.
