In Oregon, a senior dog didn’t hide her relief when rescuers saved her from a bank along the rushing Tualatin River.
Jewel is a 10-year-old Lab mix who found herself stranded when she ran away from home after getting spooked by the sounds of fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Luckily, this poor pup wasn’t afraid of the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue team when they came out to save her!
In the video below, you’ll see Jewel watch as they row their raft toward her. As soon as she realizes they’re coming for her, her tail starts wagging as if she’s happy and relieved to see them! Before the video cuts to them boarding the boat, you’ll even see her lay down in front of one of the rescuers.
Watch the rescue below:
Jewel even calmly lays down in the raft! Aside from probably being exhausted, she seems to know that these deputies are here to help. There’s no doubt she couldn’t wait to go home – and we bet her family missed her just as much.
