Bruno, a sable German Shepherd Dog, lives an exciting life, serving as a K-9 police dog for the Anaheim Police Department. When his partner, Officer RJ Young, and him recently responded to a call, poor Bruno was shot directly in the face by an armed suspect–right in front of his partner who watched in horror. This brave dog hardly whimpered, immediately clinging to his partner’s side for comfort with ultimate courage.
Officer Young told ABC News, “it was a horrific thing to have to watch. My entire world came tumbling down in the matter of a second.”
City streets were blocked off so that Officer Young and other police officials could rush Bruno to an emergency animal hospital in an attempt to save his life. In the condition this poor dog was in a miracle was truly needed to give them any hope. Having to witness something so horrific, Officer Young was absolutely devastated knowing his best friend was suffering so much. But thankfully his brave dog’s life was able to be saved, after a bullet was removed from his lung–barely missing his heart. Watch his incredible story below:
