Our Frenchie is 8 weeks old and we have had him for one week. He has no problem going into the crate by himself on his own, but he freaks out when left in the crate.
He sleeps in a crate at night and will sleep in there fine. When he whines I take him out and then put him back in to go back to sleep. During the day he likes to go to sleep in our lap. If he does fall asleep in our lap we put him in his bed in the crate. He will stay a few mins and right back out. Will be super tired, but will not go into the crate to get in his bed and go to sleep.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My French bulldog,Lola also didn’t like the creat when she was a baby! She cried, poop and peed inside the creat – she hated! I took her to a behaviorist- she told me that Lola was scared being alone inside the creat, she was too young to be in there by herself! Once I was told that Pack animals tend to sleep together and it is true! That day when I came home I put the creat away- I gave her a full freedom when I was at home, she slept with me too! When I went to work I let her stay in my big kitchen, I blocked the entrance with the baby gate! She loved it! Frenchies are very smart and loving dogs,they love to be around people! Also your dog is an Alpha dog, he won’t like to stay by himself or force to do things, stubborn Frenchies :-), just like my Lola! If you want you can buy a large dog fances for home use, put a very cheap carpet under it – put a pee pat far away from his water! I also left my dog’s puppy food with her – that helped my dog not to be food crazy, food oriented! Now I can leave my dog’s water and food in the kitchen all day long- because she learned how to eat it all day long! Always talk to him,tell everything 🙂 like crazy people that will make him the perfect dog when he gets older because he will listen you and understand you. My dog can walk without leash, when I say stay close to mommy she does,when I say be gentle to the birds she doesn’t chase them:-) .They are very active,crazy, cute and funny dogs- please just let him to be with you, he needs a security of a mommy just like human babies. Have lots of fun with your beautiful baby because they get older very quick, try to do almost everything with him, you will enjoy it I guarantee it.
