My border collie/McNab has dew claws on his hind legs. Anyone else with that?? I can get them removed but he would have to be restrained for up to 6 weeks – probably drive me crazy. One toenail is 1 1/2 the size of a regular toe nail & curls around to try & dig into his pad. I can’t use a nail grinder but he will let me use a nail file. I’m having trouble finding one that is coarse enough to keep that nail filed down. Anyone know where to get a coarse nail file? thanking in advance

I had the rear dewclaws removed (because they were dangly) when one of my girls was spayed at one year. Once she pulled the bandages off, she didn’t bother her feet and was back to normal as soon as her spay restriction was up. Six weeks seems excessive.
