My 8 week old Bassett’s ribs stick way out, she doesn’t seem to be in pain..I did some research and found she had Flanged ribs, which they say is a deformity and it really concerns me:( Does anybody else have a Bassett Hound with this problem??

My basset has this on both sides of her ribs. When she was fixed she had complications where she wasn’t digesting her food and her stomach was eight times the size it was supposed to be. We figured since at six months she’s still growing, that her ribs were deformed because of the expansion of her stomach. It never seemed to bother her so we never brought her in. We just recently brought her in for shots and the vets said it’s just the way some Bassett grow. Nothing at all to be worried about!
