Florida & fleas

We live in Orlando in the Windermere area and our vet has our Maltese on Trifexis. It is a once monthly pill. That is all he says our dog needs here. Ticks and fleas are not really a problem in the populated areas. And you will be here in winter so less of a chance.

6 drops of PURE Lavender essential oil mixed into a 100-125ml bottle of pure spring water is what I use on my dogs (I have owned 3 poodles!). You can also spray this on bedding or in baskets to freshen up and de-flea! Only a small amount of essential oil is used, because dog’s have a much stronger sense of smell than humans and too much essential oil may irritate their skin. DO NOT use FRAGRANT essential oil as only PURE essentai oil has theraputic propeties. Do not spray into their eyes!

We live in southern Louisiana where fleas, ticks, mosquitoes etc run rampant. Our vet introduced us to Trifexis and we religiously give it to our 9 dogs every month. They come inside every night so I am very conscious of not wanting any fleas or ticks on them. Trifexis has kept my home free from fleas and ticks and I recommend it to everyone I know with dogs. It also is a heart worm preventative and that is something we have to worry about in the south with the mosquitoes. I put the pill in a Greenie pill pocket and they eat it with no problem. No mess like drops and more efficient than either the drops or flea collars. I consider it a superior product.
