hematoma surgery and e collar trouble

hi my boxer just had surgery on a hematoma on her ear on friday. She came home with an e collar and is very uncomfortable with it. She can’t get to her food or water bowls so I am putting food and water in glad bowls and have been able to direct her to the bowls by putting them close to her nose and then having her follow it to the floor but she seems to be so uncomfortable with it. I know she has to wear it so as not to bust the stitches which I would not want to risk her having to have more surgery to correct but I do want to know how to make her more comfortable and help her adjust better to the collar. She’s very much a princess and shes not pleased at all that she’s being restricted. I just want to make her as comfortable as possible for the next 10 days.
