Hi All, I have a Rotti who is 18 months old and she just doesn’t seem to be gaining weight. She is on Black Hawk which I have been told by numerous sales people and others that that is a great food for Rotties… I have been cooking and feeding her Sweet Potato also but it all seems to be not doing anything. She is wormed and up to date with vaccinations. Any recommendations on how to fatten her up in a healthy way would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The leaner the better for your rotti… her hips and knees will last much longer. I like taste of the wild it has lots of protein and no junk in it. I also make a few eggs a month for my guys it really makes there coat shine.

she is still in the age that she is very active and even growing and burns lots of calories. i have had rotties for over 3 decades and have teached them to eat avocados in there diet and also black beans in combination with there dry food. i had one rottie that lived up to 18 years and the vet told me that no doubt his diet had a big thing to do with his long life. protein and good fruits and vegetables will make her grow good muscles. they prefer well ripe avocados just in case you want to try.

Rottweilers don’t completely fill out until they are almost 3yrs old, so
Feeding them more will only make them fat not make them more
Lean looking. Unless your dog is looks severely undernourished
There is no need to try to feed more.
