Leonardo – A match made in heaven

Hi guys my name is Leonardo although my friends call me Leo. I was named after my mommy’s favorite ninja turtle. My mommy and I were made for each other. I remember the first time I layed eyes on my mommy. Some people say destiny brought us together, but I believe God knew that mommy needed my unconditional love.
You see my mommy saw a Facebook post that I was for sale. It was a sunny Friday afternoon and my mommy was working from home. She saw the posting and called about wanting to meet me and my brother. My owner and my mom were talking about the details of the transaction. She sat down on the couch and both my brother and I were placed on her lap. My brother got off and started wondering around the couch. But not me. I stayed on her lap, and I knew ever since that that’s where I want to stay forever. That’s what I call my happy place. My then owner said, “well I guess he has chosen you.” My mommy picked me and took me to a big store to buy me a comfy bed, food, and pretty much anything I would need. She call my grandma and uncle and meet them to introduce me. They were all so excited and happy to meet me. I felt right at home. My mommy showered me with so much love and affection from the very beginning, but I could feel that there was something wrong with her. At night she would pick me up, and all of a sudden I would feel my fur get wet. She would spend hours and hours while holding me and sobbing. I knew she was sad, but I didn’t know why… until one day I saw her looking at a guy in a picture. My mommy was wearing a beautiful long white dress and the guy next to here was wearing a fancy suit. She would tell me how much she missed him, but that the divorce was final. I knew then my purpose. God had sent me to show her that she was not alone. I was to show her how much she meant to me and how much I love her. She would never be alone again. She had me to fill that emptiness in her heart. Days, months went by and little by little she regained her smile back. Every time my mommy would take me for our walks I made sure I did something silly to get to laugh. The weekends are not boring and lonely. We go out to picnics together. She shows me new tricks. We Netflix and chill together. I became her loyal companion. I love my mommy so much, and she loves me very much too. I can see the love in her eyes, and in the way she talks to me so lovingly. Sometimes my mommy has to go away for work. She goes on business trips, and leaves me with grandma, but when she is away she always calls through this small rectangular thing, my grandma calls it FaceTime. I see her talking through the rectangular thing and even though I try to give her kisses, it doesn’t feel like her skin. Whenever she comes back home, I make sure to let her know how much I missed her. We have long cuddle sessions to make up for the time we were apart. Destiny/ God has mysterious ways to unite people and dogs that are meant to be together. My mommy and I were truly meant to be together forever and ever.
