My pup was diagnosed with hypertrophic osteodystrophy which caused her not to be able to walk and was running a very high fever. Took her to the vet and she is back to normal running around and playing. Just didn’t know if anyone else has had this problem in there pups and what was the outcome.

Hi Allie!
My 5 month old pit was diagnosed today after 3 long pain filled days with DOH. I don’t know much information, other then what Google says. I have reached out to a lot of organizations today so just waiting for a reply. I’m sorry this has happen to your baby, it’s awful. -

Allie abd Maranda – our Wein suffered from this for 2 episodes and the second was longer than the first. I had to do all the research and actually found out what was wrong with Mara. She spiked a temp of 107.6 the second and it was awful. Fortunately I contacted the author of a great article and showed it to our vet. Mara was on Prednizone for a month and she has not had an episode since. Supposedly they will outgrow it by 20-24 months. Mara is a healthy, happy and VERY active soon to be 3 year old!!! Very glad we found the article or I am not sure what we would have done…..can’t imagine our life without her amazing personality. As you can see, she loves her 14 year old Golden sister, Kendra!!!
