I adopted an 8 and a half year old female beagle over a year ago. When I first got her she would piddle on occasion in the house. I took her to the vet about 6 months ago and they ruled out diabetes and a UTI. Now she is urinating all the time in the house and even in her crate where she soaks her bed. I’m thinking she’s becoming incontinent although I don’t know what the cause could be. Is there someone else who has experienced this and if so please let me know what to do. I’m desperate.
Thank you! -

I recently lost my beagle after about 15 years. When he was about 8, he started having accidents and it was clear that he didn’t know what was happening until too late. The doctors put him on testosterone and after a couple of weeks it completely cleared up – but if he missed any doses, the problem would come back. They said that they did the same thing for female dogs but with estrogen and it worked the same way. It helped to firm up the muscles that controlled him going to the bathroom. Try talking to the vet about something like that.
