Just when we thought we had seen everything, a dog goes and does something absolutely spectacular. During the Finals of the FCI Dog Dance World Championship in Moscow, Russia, a dog named Deril blew us away with his stunning performance. Lusy Imbergerova, his owner, really did an outstanding job training this routine. They were competing in their freestyle routine when Lusy feigned injury and Deril went to work to resuscitate her.

He performed chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth CPR – an impressive performance that landed them 2nd place in the international competition. Thankfully this was just a well-trained trick, but it might come in handy one day if Deril ever needs to save a life! We already train dogs to do some helpful tasks, it wouldn’t be out of the question to consider teaching them CPR in real life.

This dynamic duo from Italy really earned their place in the competition. We definitely can’t wait to see them competing in the future with even more surprising tricks. For now, holding a 2nd place at a world championship is a pretty amazing feat for any dog and handler team!
