#2 – Try an Elimination Diet
Dogs aren’t allergic to foods very often, but it does happen. If you can’t afford the expensive allergy tests needed to rule out specific allergens, talk with your veterinarian about starting an elimination diet. Elimination diets start out by feeding very dull, typically hypoallergenic ingredients. Eventually, new ingredients are added until an allergic reaction is seen in your dog. That’s one way to find out what your pup is allergic to when it comes to food. Common food allergies are beef, corn, and soy. Keep in mind that this also means no table scraps or extra treats! Any amount of ingredients that your dog is allergic to can cause problems.
