20 Best Dog Foods for Rottweiler with Allergies

Rottweilers are prone to chicken sensitivities. None of my dogs ever get any chicken or chicken by-products. We currently feed Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach & Skin Salmon & Rice. But may switch to Victor (Oceanfish formula) bc I have heard such great things.

My boy has Eosinophilic Gastro Enteritis. It’s an auto immune condition that is actually common to Rotties. He is allergic to every meat protein on the face of the earth! I even have to be careful dishing up dog food and make sure I serve his first as even the residue from a meat based canned food on the spoon will have him puking for days with bloody water coming out the back end like a fire hydrant! We used to use the Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein, but holy cow did that price get outrageous!! I switched him to Natural Balance Vegetarian both canned and kibble and he has done fantastic for several years now!

Stay away from food that has chicken or chicken byproducts. I feed Victor (blue pack mixed with purple) as about 50% of their food, the other 50% is raw – ground meat from rabbit including the bones/beef/lamb/fish (tilapia), organs, vegetables and fruits. All send through the meat grinder. I have six Rottweiler and they do great on it

My pup is allergic to chicken which was her primary food from early puppy to 2 1/2 she was suffering from hot spots and horrible dry skin to pet her she just could not bare to be touched along with a bad tummy and attitude. I started with the vet to get the hot spots cleaned and a conversation then I did some research on what is digestible for dogs nutrients that will enhance her life. Tested some meats that she can eat without issues We are now making her food beef pumpkin oatmeal and veggies on occasion I add raw liver (no fowl) beef seems to be the best for her. My sister with a German Shepard also feeds this and the coat change was within a week or two. My pup is now a happy girl shiny good tummy and the best attitude

We have a Rottie and a Shepard. I recently read on another forum that goats milk is a wonder cure for sensitive skin and stomach. It’s supposed to be a natural prebiotic. Local dog supply store has it in the freezer. I give them a half a cup after dinner and they love it. Ever since we incorporated it into their diet they have not had issues anymore.
