20 Best Foods for a Rottweiler Puppy

I used diamond brand. Has a purified water sticker on the bag. My rottie is 12 years old. So I don’t think it has any bad things in it. Granted at 12 years old he don’t look the same. But he’s still a beast a little over 100 lb never been fat.

I give my rottweiler a mix of royal canin rottweiler puppy and purina pro plan large breed puppy and recently changed to purina pro plan large breed adult sensitive skin and stomach salmon. She’ll still be on the royal canin puppy till she’s 18 months. She prefers the royal canin. I also bake fish for her everytime I get a successful day fishing.

Everyone has opinions on what to do. I have had 5 Rotties over the years. I just loss my beautiful almost 7 year old Rottie to cancer, it took him quick like in 3 months. Vet thinks commercial dog food was part of the cause. There is too much preservatives in commercial food. Read labels and decide for yourself, watch out for things like by-products and other vague terms that usually mean fillers. What works for one dog does not always work for another, trust yourself in what you feed your dog. You know your dog better than anyone do trust yourself to do right by him or her. My baby was healthy and didn’t even look sick up to his last day. He was solid , strong, and weighed in at 131 lbs. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I’ve had 5 Rottweilers over 30 years. They have all been fed pedigree brand puppy and adult. All have done well and lived to at least 13. Except for one who had cancer.

The brand is irrelevant; all dogs will like different things. What’s important is you use large breed puppy food, you ensure it’s not too high in protein. You feed 3 times a day and you keep that going til your pup is 18 months old. Don’t walk him too far or too fast; their bones take time to grow and they need to develop slowly and carefully so the joints fuse together properly. After 18 months move to 2 feeds a day on adult food and don’t overfeed. A huge dog isn’t what you want; you want a healthy one!
