Don’t shampoo the dog. It can dry out their skin. Put a little oil in food. I would take the dog to the bay for a swim, and hose it off well, no shampoo. I had three rarely bathed them.

I get this shampoo along with conditioner I used it on my Lab that had skin allergies and still currently use this on my German Shepherd. I order it thru Chewy, very good product! Zymox also has ear drops that I used for my Labs ears that were horrible and cleared up and I also use this on my German Shepherd every other week to keep his ears clear of anything.

If they have seasonal itching my vet does recommend a bath to wash off the irritants. Putting baby oil in a warm water bath can be all that is needed to do this. If it’s a chronic issue try putting omega 3 fish oil in daily food. My lab benefits from both of these. Good luck

Our boy was extremely itchy on his legs and feet we rubbed Equiderma lotion on him a few days in a row. It cleared him right up! It is lotion made for horses with skin problems. I had some for my horse so I brought it home. They do make some specifically for dogs too. I have no idea if it’s different or the same thing with a different label Great stuff!

My Lab has a history of hot spots. Severe enough to require medical intervention. I put him on fish oil. Reduced them from 4 or 5 per year, to 2 small ones in the last 2 1/2 years. If you really must shampoo your dog, get one with oatmeal. Otherwise regularly brushing is usually enough.
