25 Best Foods for a Bulldog Puppy

Mine was on Purina One Lamb & Rice for years but he had to have 3 teeth pulled at 10 1/2 years old so I make his good now.. he no longer has brown spots on his paws from licking them. So I think he was having an allergic reaction to the food. His food now is 6 eggs, whatever meat I have available this is diced ham, rice, green beans, mixed vegetables, 1 pack of Ramen. I’ve found it way cheaper than dog food.. I always watch for sales on the human food though for him.

What is he currently being fed when you got him? If there’s no issues and he is healthy why change it? When we got our bullie he had a protein build up in his front leg and we started feeding him IAMS and he’s know over 6 and there’s no issue with his leg either. He’s healthy always solid poop and loves going for his walks. If you feel the food you’re feeding him isn’t good enough then do some research and see what you feel would be the best and get a small bag to see how your bullie will react. Just because it’s good for others doesn’t mean it will be for you. Good luck

I’ve used Canidae Duck formula recommend by a Bulldog vet specialist. Iggy had allergies and tummy problems. Vet told me duck is the gentlest protein to digest. Even better than Salmon. It really made a difference

Start with whatever she was eating at the rescue. Keep changing the diet will cause tummy upsets. Whatever you choose make sure it doesn’t have Brewers Yeast in. Bulldogs have sensitive skin prone to yeast infections and makes them very itchy. Brewers yeast is used as a vitamin supplement and taste enhancer but awful for dogs prone to yeast infections. I started my girl on Fish 4 Dogs dry and within a week she was trying to rip her skin off. I changed her to Burns dry Sensitive and she has been fine ever since.

I make my bulldogs food. It’s a pain and expensive but its the only thing that curbs her allergies. Her food includes: ground beef, ground lamb, salmon, hard boiled eggs, brown rice, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, yellow squash, spinach, sweet potatoes (sometimes butternut squash in place), peas, apples, cottage cheese, blueberries, and coconut oil. She also gets a vitamin supplement daily.

We feed the Purina Pro salmon. We live in the country so he is still itchy at but give him a benadryl and he’s good to go. The only problem we ever had was when he was 2 we went to a friend’s alot a they were giving him milk bone treats along with the rest of the gang (8 dogs total, 3 ours ) He developed pancreatitis and $800 later no more milkbone with red dye!
