My Yorkie has been on Taste of the Wild since she was a puppy. That is what the breeder fed her. She is almost 11 1/2 and is active and eats well. It is a dry food in a small kibble. She loves it! We also had a Yorkie who passed away a couple of years ago who also ate TOTW, and he was one month shy of his 17th birthday when he passed away.

Pepper liked pedigree. Favorite was beef and sometimes I would mix it with hard food. Can’t remember the dog food, help him to keep a little weight on him. Plus the hard food was good for his teeth, just mixed little hard food. He liked it, always kept a little out for him till he got older.

Yorkie are by far my favorite breed and I recommend the breed specific diets all the time. If I wasn’t going to do the breed specific diet, I also LOVE and swear by Hills Science Diet. The more natural the better. I’d avoid all kibble. I’m on freshpet, works great for tear stains, nutrients, and actually appealing to the dog. A raw diet is another good alternative if your dog is willing to eat it.

I switched from Blue Buffalo to Merrick. I would recommend either. I feed my 15 y/o Yorkie Blue for 14 years. Got a rescue that didn’t like Blue. Transition them both to Merrick. Both are flourishing. Healthy poops and coat is shines and thick. No allergies so far.

I’m not sure about dog food, but I am sure that cooking chicken fresh every other day for my dog has worked. He’s 16 years old. He can’t hear and he’s got Cataracts, but he runs up to the dog walk. He sleeps all night and he’s very healthy he’s never been overweight and he’s so sweet as can be. I didn’t know how I was going to do it but for 16 years I have cooked chicken for him every other day so he has fresh now I have to grind it because he hasn’t got many teeth left
