Hi everyone. I’m new here and this is the most active forum I’ve run into. We recently rescued a 1.5 year old dog. She has proven herself to be a very good escape artist, very Houdini, and quite a powerful chewer. she is about 42 pounds. The rescue said she is a German shepherd mix. Didn’t specify the other half. They said maybe a collie since she has the white hair on her chest, her chin, her paw and underside.. But a friend of ours said she looks part wolf. We aren’t allowed to own any wolf hybrid nor would I want one. Please let me know what you think she could be, more importantly if she could have any wolf because we are on a 14-day trial for her. We love her already but where we live, wolf or wolf hybrids are prohibited. Thank you so much!!!

My goodness, your pup could be a sibling of our rescue boy Bodie! We were told shepherd/lab with maybe collie thrown in. I personally think our boy is shepherd-husky (he sings rather than barks) with a possible dash of collie. (No wolf or wolf-like traits.). Rely on a vets interpretation – they see lots of breeds daily. A friend might be a fine friend, but if you love the dog and the vet says “no wolf here” then there you have it!
Our boy is a fine, smart loving fellow. A bit active but super great with kids and we wouldn’t part with him ever!
      Good luck!
