My 9 month old puppy has all of a sudden started chewing when we leave her a night time in the kitchen. She has just started doing this and nothing has changed in her routine so we are unsure of what to do. She has started chewing the dinning room chairs and scrapping up the lino. She sleeps with another husky but we can tell its her as we have an app to watch her from our ipad. She has plenty of chews and is excerised regularly. Any suggestions would be great?

Hi, one thought is, if you have kept your exercise regime constant, your pup is now older. Exercise for a toddler would not be sufficient for an adolescent (just wait until she’s a teenager).
I rescued an elkhound mix when he was 9 months, then got him a husky buddy rescue when he was 18 mos and she was 6 mos. There was about a 3 year period where i couldn’t catch a break, and we averaged at least 6 miles a day, three walks a day. I bought a scooter for them to pull me (dog scooter.com), and they also sell attachments for bicyles that appear effective, although I’ve stayed with the scooter. This would still be my first guess, and it’s actually the easiest to try, since all you do, is walk / run them more. Good for you, good for them regardless. If it works, great, if not, nothing lost in the effort. And when mine were in that 1 – 3 year phase, they were FULL ON ENERGY.
The next thought is, if it’s separation anxiety, try a kennel in the bed room, and also, some dogs like a cover over the kennel for that cave like feeling. Then there is always a couple old smelly socks for their human smell, or an old well worn (unwashed t-shirt).
Last, i still walk my guys every night 30 min or so just before bed time. Huskies are extremely intelligent. This means they get bored easily.

Best of luck to you and your pup
      Hugh
