There’s always a reason to celebrate a beloved pet, and Jackie Pizano of Oklahoma City didn’t want to pass up the chance to show her German Shepherd how special she is.

Two-year-old Nova recently received an Einstein Award from the K-9 University, and the accomplishment earned her a well-deserved party. While Jackie admitted to ABC7 that the timing was a little off, she and her family decided to throw Nova her very own quinceañera.

Typically a celebration to mark a girl’s 15th birthday, this canine quinceañera was an event like no other. It was held at the beautiful Daffodil Hill, a popular wedding venue. There were pink decorations, good food, and guests showed up dressed to impressed. The best dressed of the day was of course the birthday girl herself. Nova wore a pink tutu with a sparkling tiara perched between her ears.

While human and canine guests spent the night socializing and having a good time, the best moment was Nova’s special dance. She showed off her obedience skills and dancing moves by performing in front of her friends and family. The birthday dog even had her own human back-up dancers.

Nova’s adopted sister, Phoebe, enjoyed being part of the party, and Jackie hopes the little Dachshund will have her own special day sometime in the future. She says Nova has been an excellent role model, and if Phoebe continues to do well, she’ll be hosting another party to celebrate a special milestone.
