Gator, the Lab puppy, is the perfect example of a dog who has benefitted from the GOODS Program. Someone surrendered him to A Lab for Life, a foster-based rescue in Edmond, Oklahoma, because he had a severe case of parvo. Parvo can be deadly, especially without proper treatment, so Gator stayed at the vet for the first three days to begin his recovery.

After those three days, the vet decided that Gator was ready to head into foster care. His foster family had to monitor him closely and give him subcutaneous fluids. Thanks to their special care, Gator survived and is now feeling better than ever!

Gator’s Dreams Come True

Once Gator was strong enough, he went up for adoption and quickly found the perfect family. Gator was adopted by a young couple who loves to spoil him and give him a life of luxury. He loves playing in the snow in the winter, and in the summer, he regularly joins his humans on vacations to their lake house.

Gator’s recovery and adoption are all thanks to the wonderful donations A Lab for Life receives. The GOODS Program provides healthy meals for the dogs in their care so they can focus on other aspects, such as medical needs. Not having to spend as much money on supplies allowed the rescue to have enough funds to support Gator’s parvo treatment.
