Every time you purchase products from the iHeartDogs store, part of that profit goes to Greater Good Charities. Greater Good Charities supports a variety of animal organizations through its GOODS Program, which donates food and other essential supplies. With those donations, many dogs’ lives are saved as a result!

Gracie got a second chance because of donations from the GOODS Program. She didn’t do well when she ended up in a crowded shelter, and volunteers said she kept “panicking.” So, Pawsibilities in Windsor, Missouri, took her in to give her a more comfortable environment.

Senior dog smiling

Gracie tested positive for heartworm after arriving at the rescue. Despite being nine years old and facing heartworm treatment, this beautiful girl always looked like she was smiling!

“What many may not know about heartworm treatment: Heartworm treatment is very difficult on dogs for a variety of reasons but very often people don’t think about the mental stress of not being active for six whole months!” Pawsibilities wrote. “Poor Gracie was not allowed to play with other dogs or even romp in the yard or go for a walk until she was through her entire treatment process.”

The Road to Recovery

Everyone at the rescue was relieved when Gracie finally tested negative after her heartworm treatment. It meant the senior dog could finally head off to a forever home without needing her exercise restricted. However, being an older dog, she had some special requirements for her adoption.

Gracie’s vision and hearing aren’t as good as they used to be, so she gets startled easily. Thus, the rescue wanted to make sure she went to a home with no young children. Luckily, that perfect family came along, and Gracie was soon spoiled in her new home. She has a canine sibling to play with, and she loves watching football with her humans.

“Thanks to the GOODS Program donating dog food and supplies, we are able to put more towards medical tests, conditions, and treatments such as heartworm tests and treatments!” Pawsibilities wrote.

If you purchase iHeartDogs products, some of that profit helps dogs like Gracie recover and go on to live their best lives in forever homes. Even small purchases can make a huge difference. So, thank you to all the heroes who have purchased products to help rescue dogs!
