When Raven the Tamaskan Husky was just a puppy, she was lonely. She wanted a best friend to be able to run around and play with. So, Christina, Raven’s Mom, decided to take Raven to a shelter in Lubbock, Texas to allow her to select a best friend herself. Christina wanted Raven to find a kitten she could grow old with, but of course, Christina couldn’t just pick a friend for her. Raven had to choose her new friend on her own.

Raven met with four different kittens at that shelter. They were each brought into a room with Raven one by one to see how they would interact. Some of the kittens showed no interest in her and some weren’t a fan of her loving nature, but as soon as Raven was introduced to Woodhouse, she knew she found the perfect friend.

Christina couldn’t deny the spark between Raven and Woodhouse, so she brought the cute tabby kitten home that same day. Raven was overjoyed to have found the perfect friend so quickly, and their bond only grew stronger from there.

The Start of a Beautiful Friendship

Right away, Raven and Woodhouse bonded. They were both very young and they were cuddly with each other right away. Christina knew instantly that she and Raven had made the right choice.

“I had always wanted a dog and a cat to grow up together. It’s been like a life goal,” said Christina.

Luckily, Christina’s life goal was a success. While many stereotypes assume that dogs and cats can’t be friends, Raven and Woodhouse put those rumors to rest. They couldn’t be any closer, and it doesn’t even matter that they’re two different species of animals.

They enjoy playing tag and chasing each other around the house. They also celebrate birthdays together, travel together, and sleep side by side. As long as they are with each other, that’s all that matters to them.

Christina says that Raven and Woodhouse don’t snuggle with each other as often as they did when they were young, but they are still inseparable. They will always be loving siblings toward each other and no amount of time can change that.

Now, Raven is much larger than Woodhouse, but the sweet cat doesn’t seem to mind. Woodhouse is a brave girl and she isn’t afraid of her big sister at all.

Sure, not all dogs and cats get along, but when they do, it is a beautiful and adorable thing. Raven and Woodhouse prove that a true friendship has no boundaries. They are so grateful that Christina decided to provide a loving home for both of them.
