Aggie was found as a stray and she was terrified, hungry, and all alone. Luckily, she was picked up and taken to the Tulare County Animal Shelter in Visalia, California. The shelter believed Aggie to be a Shiba Inu and Welsh Corgi mix. Unfortunately, nobody was showing any interest in Aggie despite her loving eyes and heart-melting face. It’s a mystery why that was the case because she is absolutely adorable! There seemed to be little hope for sweet little Aggie.

Aggie’s Life Changed With a Little Bit Of Luck, A Big Surprise, And A Lot Of Love!

Aggie’s luck started to turn around when she was selected to get help from START Rescue (Shelter Transport Animal Rescue Team). This rescue helps provide transport for pups in need. The START Rescue packs their transport van full of doggies in need and takes them to places where they will have a better chance of finding their new families. Each large transport costs them over $7,500 per trip! The rescue relies on donations to help them give these babies another chance. Donors have the option to “buy a seat” for a pup to be transported.

Sweet little Aggie was transported to the Pacific Northwest where she had a much higher chance of being adopted. She was taken to Reedsport, Oregon where another plot twist awaited this little lovebug. Aggie was pregnant! Not only was she pregnant, but she was ready to give birth at any minute.

New Job, New Mom, New Name – Aggie Gets It All

Now let’s fast forward three months. Aggie’s puppies were ready to be adopted and so was Aggie. She had waited long enough to find her furever home and her babies were healthy enough to leave her side. Aggie finally laid eyes on her new mom! She was renamed Meggie and she quickly settled into her new life.

Meggie has a Hound Dog sister named Ronja. And, Meggie even has a job now! She proudly rocks the title of Customer Service Dog at her mom’s bookstore, the Nye Beach Book House. Meggie’s mom does dog training on the side which has given Meggie the opportunity to meet tons of new friends.

Meggie seems to be loving her job at the bookstore. The Nye Beach Book House regularly shares pictures of Meggie working hard, or maybe hardly working, while she naps in her cozy bed and greets customers. Her mom even posted that the price of admission to the shop was one dog massage! Meggie didn’t seem to mind. In fact, we think she may have orchestrated the adorable scheme!
