RECALL ALERT: Yesterday’s Dog Treat Recall Expanded Over Salmonella Concerns

Yesterday, four companies issued a recall for certain lots of products over Salmonella concerns. Shortly after, one of the companies expanded the recall to cover more lots of recalled product.

Smokehouse Pet Products, Inc. of Sun Valley, CA is now recalling ALL sizes and lots of “Beefy Munchies” as opposed to certain lots of their 4-oz size.

According to Dog Food Advisor, no illnesses have been reported, and the recall was issued after routine testing showed traces of Salmonella in two of the sampled 4-oz packages.

If you’ve purchased “Beefy Munchies,” do not feed them to your dog and return any leftover product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
