Rescue Holds New Dad’s Arm The Whole Way Home

| Published on January 9, 2020

Samuel Clarence first met a dog named Stanley while volunteering as a dog walker for an animal shelter. Two 6-month-old puppies had been discovered living on an abandoned property with their mother. Clarence was tasked with looking after one of those pups for a couple weeks. Lo and behold, that foster was as they say “a failure” and Stanley became a permanent family member.

Clarence adopted Stanley through Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue in New Zealand. He told The Dodo this dog’s love language is definitely physical touch.

“We have to be touching at all times. He’s very forceful about it.”

An image of Clarence bringing Stanley home in the car really says it all. Stanley has his leg outstretched so his paw can connect with his new person’s arm as he drives. This, apparently, is pretty routine for him.
