Jack and Diane found wandering the East Cemetery in Chelsea, Maine with their leashes tied together. In August they were taken in by the Kennebec Valley Humane Society where it was quickly decided that no matter what, they needed to be adopted together. They share a bond stronger than just the leashes that tethered them – Kennebec Valley Humane Society believes that the two are in love, and threw them their own wedding ceremony!

The shelter says that the two behave like an old married couple anyway, so they figured it was about time to make it official!

Jack and Diane had been adopted before, but were returned shortly after when it was found that the family was not the right match. They may be back at the Humane Society, but they’re together, and the shelter still believes that the best home for them is the one that they get to share.

The shelter estimates that Jack is 10 and Diane is 7. It’s a late age at which to get married, but it’s never too late to declare their love!

This is the first wedding the shelter has thrown for a bonded pair in their care, but they couldn’t have chosen a more adorable couple!

It’s impossible to know how long they’ve been together, but it’s apparent that they share a deep connection! If you’re interested in adopting, visit the Kennebec Valley Humane Society!

“Jack and Diane are a senior bonded pair, and want nothing more than a forever home to spend their retirement years in together! One with older children would be best, who would respect their need for ‘me’ time, and no other pets please!”

Congratulations, Jack and Diane!
