In May 2017, a stray mama dog named Sydni was pulled from a kill shelter by All 4 Paws Animal Rescue in Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. But Sydni wasn’t alone – she had five tiny puppies in tow!

The adorable little family was welcomed into one of A4P’s loving foster homes until her kiddos were old enough to be adopted.

Her pups found forever homes, and Sydni’s friends at the shelter were confident some lucky adopter would snatch her up too. But somehow, nearly two years later, she is still waiting for her perfect human(s) to come along.

Sydni is more than just blond hair and striking good looks. She loves going for long walks with the All 4 Paws volunteers. Every time they pass her cage, she wags her tail, perks up her goofy over-sized ears, and melts their hearts with her big brown eyes.

When it is time to go back inside, she dramatically throws herself on the ground and plays dead until she gets a few extra minutes of one-on-one attention.

This delightful diva belongs on the silver screen, but she’d be happy just to be the star of someone’s heart.

Despite being doted on by the volunteers who teach her new tricks and give her extra playtimes, two years in a cage has begun to take its toll on Sydni.

The staff once utilized her neutral demeanor to help calm rambunctious new arrivals, but as her frustration grows, she is becoming less tolerant of other animals.

However, Sydni adores humans. She is gentle, patient, and extremely affectionate. Her personality is perfectly suited for an active person or family who enjoy the great outdoors. She loves visiting the nearby beaches.

At approximately 4-years old she is beyond her wild puppy stage, walking calmly and politely on her leash.

She may be picky about her animal friends, but Sydni is yet to meet a human she doesn’t like. Her friends at the shelter would love to find her a home in the local area, but are not opposed to considering out of state adopters if they are willing to travel to SC to meet her.
