We have 2 corgis, Sheldon and Leonard. Sheldon was our first and is very well behaved and calm. Leonard (the younger of the 2) is a communicator and barks a lot.
Our problem with him is when we go on our walks. He will constantly bark and pull when he sees other dogs and gets really crazy with bikes.
I try giving him treats the minute he sees a dog to get his attention and repeat “no barking” (which he understands) over and over until we pass. Or I’ll stand in front of him to try and block his view but he still continues.
He never did this when he was younger. It’s getting worse. He is now 2.
Any thoughts?Attachments:

My 11 year old tri didn’t bark at other dogs till she had emergency back surgery and was bitten afterwards by two dogs who came out of nowhere. I started using an air horn when she started barking and now if we see another dog I just say to her Tiggy I have the horn and that is really helping. We have walked past dogs who started barking at her and now she doesn’t even respond. Of course she gets lots of praise and cookies which I’m sure really helps.

We practice the “leave it” command. At first, we just keep treating Henry to gain his attention. Then we started to say “leave it” and treat treat treat. Now when he sees other dogs, he freaks a little bit but mostly he looks at me and I treat him. If he pulls I say “leave it” and he turns back to me and I treat him. We use a SENSE-ation dog harness by Softtouch Concepts (http://www.softouchconcepts.com/product/sense-ation-harness) with him. The leash hooks to the front on Henry’s chest. That way if he pulls I can pull back and it will turn him toward me. It gives you greater control and you dog will not lead you.
