I have had two friends loose dogs from reactions. I go all natural. I have plants around the house, yard and kennel area tat deter them. I also use diatomaceous earth in problem areas. (trees and bushes). Have not had a problem.

Simparica Trio, because being in FL it’s important to also have them on a heart worm preventive as well. If you just want flea/tick, Nexgard is very safe.

Wondercide has worked surprisingly well and better than any “natural” product ive tried.I buy the pet / bedding spray and use it on myself even daily .We use it mostly as a mosquito/ biting flies / tick spray, but 2 of my dogs aren’t on monthly flea treatment atm and i haven’t seen any fleas( im in north fl ,flea heII).Not many things actually repel ticks and mosquitoes ,this dose ,i have not tried their monthly treatment and yard treatments but if it works half as good as the spray definitely great products to look into .The lemongrass one is my favorite but were trying out the rosemary

Best to speak with your local vet. Each animal reacts differently, and the dosage is based on age and weight of pet. Because of the chemicals used, they should be under supervision of the vet to keep an eye for anomalies.

I’ve used ALL of the prescription flea, tick, and heartworm meds for my dogs and I’ve always hated the idea of them ingesting poison. One of my good friends is a veterinarian and she told me to use Seresto flea and tick collars and just get a bottle of ivermectin from your local feed dealer or farm coop store to treat for heartworms. I’ve been using Seresto collars and ivermectin for 3 years and I’ve never had any fleas or ticks, and my dogs have never tested positive for any parasites including heartworm disease.

I use NexGuard & HeartGuard and when my vet has it NexGuard Plus (which is the first 2 I named in 1 pill) no reactions. I use both year round because we don’t have cold enough winters to kill ticks
