My bulldog puppy is starting to grow out of chewing as much now just loves a good belly stroke , however he always goes to bite the kids ankles / shoes and gets quite aggressive with them but doesn’t at all with myself or my partner , every time he bites the kids no to say no & I have started squirting him in the face with a splash of water which sometimes works but if the children are in the garden on their own with them he gets quite aggressive

Mine does the same thing! Drives me insane and I still haven’t figured out how to stop it. My guy is over 100 lbs at a year, so it’s a little much when he starts in with the shoe biting. We adopted him a few months ago, so we initially thought maybe he was kicked and so associated shoes with pain or something. But no, he just thinks it’s a fun game. Our trainer did suggest not squirting them in the face, to squirt near the hindquarters instead. Water never did anything to ours, but he does not care for vinegar. When my son is going to be outside with the dogs, we spray old shoes with apple cider vinegar to keep him off. Good luck!

Sounds like he sees the kids as litter mates and not as higher in the pack then him. If they were his litter mates and he was hurting them they would give a high pitched squeal. They could try saying oww loudly in a high pitch.
Also they could help with training so he sees them as leaders. Follow the leader is a good way to help him see them as pack leaders, put on his lead and have them walk or run him around, over and under things.
Daily training is great for his mental development and helps him find his place in his world.
