Hi. I only recently got my first pet. I was thinking of getting a tracking device small enough to be put on a collar or a GPS collar. I was wondering if anyone here have trackers or anything similar. Thanks!

I would say it depends on if your dog is a wanderer. We used to have a dog who had neurological problems. She would sometimes have trouble finding her way back to the house from the yard. And if we were careless with the gate she would wander off and not be able to get home. A GPS tracker like you’re talking about would have been so helpful for her (if they’d been around then!) It can also be great for your own peace of mind if you’re worried about it. I don’t have one for my chihuahua, but she is pretty good at recall so I don’t worry about her roaming away. If you think it would make you rest a little easier knowing you’d always be able to find your fur baby, then that’s definitely a worthy investment. Good luck!

That mostly depends. Most people who go hunting with their dogs would prefer getting a gps dog tracker to prevent them from losing their dogs. But if you’re more of a casual dog owner, I think microchips would do just fine. Since it helps other people find you through your dog.But if you have the finances, then go for it. It’s better to be safe, than sorry.

I think it would be a good investment if you get the ones that are reliable / have good battery life.
My last dog tracker had a faulty battery, luckily we could change it, but yeah.
