Our friend Rockys vet recommended the seresto flea collar. We trusted their word on how effective it is and safe. But within a month of him wearing it around his neck, we noticed some swelling in his throat area. We brought him to the vet where he was diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes. Also very common in Golden retrievers. He began having seizures and we took the collar off just in case that was the cause because the timing was weird. He passed away at 7 short and wonderful years, only 2 months after the diagnosis and about 2 months of wearing the seresto flea collar. Was never sure if it could have been related. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it possible? I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what we did.

Don’t EVER use a flea collar on your dog they are vrey toxic chemicals that cause exactly the problem you’re describing. Vets know almost nothing and are just there to sell drugs, flea collars, vaccines and very expensive prescription dog kibble that is no different than what you find at your local grocery store. Instead of a flea collar, use FOOD GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH (google it for sources to purchase). Make sure it is FOOD GRADE as there are two types. One you use in your garden which is toxic and the FOOD GRADE which is not toxic. I use it all the time even though I don’t have a flea problem (because I raw feed, which by the way is easy to do). Sprinkle some on the dog bedding and some on the dog and then sprinkle some over food. Just a very small amount works very well. You won’t be disappointed at the results and you can avoid the chemicals and sickening your fur baby.

My mother had used the collars on both her boxer and her Pit. Two dogs who were never around one another and didn’t eat the same food. The only thing in common was that stupid collar. Both started swelling in throat and it went fast. Daisy passed away after it took over her body and edema went full force. Just two weeks later I took Baby Girl the pit to the vet where she too had lymphoma. Do NOT use that collar ever. My heart is hurting so bad as is my entire family. These need to be pulled from the shelves. Luckily we are really good friends with the local feed store owner. A seresto salesman came in today to sell more and he told him that he would never buy another thing from that company because it’s killing dogs. Here’s the deal. Yes Boxers have a higher chance to get lymphoma but two dogs in the same home is unreal.
