Hi. I am Mistletoe Miracles, you can call me Missy. I speak to you from a place they call the Rainbow Bridge. Many years ago (I don’t remember how long because time doesn’t count here) I was a lonely, starving puppy wandering the streets. I was limping from being abused by my previous parents. I was walking by a car wash that was near a series of restaurants looking for a meal when I saw a strange car pull in. Apparently they noticed me! I was scared!!! I saw a strange man get out of the car and come towards me. I ran to the other side, but he came the other way. I ran to the opposite side, but he followed me again. I tried to run a third time, but collapsed from exhaustion and hunger. I thought I was done for but this strange man took his and and started petting me and telling me he was going to help me. I was skeptical but then he picked me up gently (I was skin and bones). He took me to his car and gave me to a woman that he was with. They both started petting me and I slurped his hand as a “Thank you”. Once we got in the car, the woman asked what should we name me…he said “Missy”. I loved the name so I raised my head. Later they added the Miracles part because “Every puppy should have a middle name.” They took me to their house and gave me food, water, and a collar…the collar became my security blanket. From that moment forward I referred to them as Mommy and Daddy. Years later, the puppy doctor told them I had cancer and it was too advanced for treatment. They were sad, but I gave them my love and knew they would take care of me. I fought bravely, but one morning, I woke up long enough to cuddle my Daddy, get a pet from Mommy, and went out to the kitchen where I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was told by a man that I no longer had the cancer, but my Daddy and Mommy would not be seeing me for quite some time. He told me that I was welcome to stay, play, eat, and enjoy time until my Daddy and Mommy came for me. That is what I am doing. My brother and sister will join me someday and, eventually, Daddy and Mommy will come and join us and we will be a happy family once again. I miss my Daddy and Mommy and I know they miss me. I hope they know I am healthy, happy, and enjoying my time here at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for them to come. I love you Daddy and Mommy.
