My husband and I recently found out we are expecting our first child. Since we found out every day my pit bull has been acting more and more protective over me. Before she used to love people and even other dogs and would love being pet. Now she won’t let anyone or anything near us when she’s around me. The only people who can get close are people she already knows well. Any ideas on how I can break this unwanted behavior?

praise and reward her for letting people you do want to interact with get close. She is just doing what she thinks is her job. Keep her in practice by giving lots of opportunities to socialize.

it is normal, she picks up on that you are changing exciting things are happening she will be fine if. a person seams to unsettle with her have her go to the kennel or in an other room. however, I feel if they don’t like my dog who loves everyone there might be a problem with them. she will protect that baby as she it is her own no worries she will not hurt they baby. you might be kicking in her mother in her. my girl sleeps with my babies and she was 15 months when we got her and had the kids already. Just keep loving her and give her lots of attention and assure her your fine she will be.
