I have a 2 yrs old female shih tzu that is scared of everyone approaching her except me, even my husband has a hard time approaching her, she goes to him for the treats but that is about it!!!! What could I do to improve that. I have already tried the walk in the park to make her socialize with other but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Anyone has a tip for me please? Thank you!

My little girl is 1 and a half. She is the same way! She will go to my husband if I’m not at home, but if I am and he tries to pick her up she runs to me like hes going to hurt her. He has never hurt any of our dogs! All she does is bury herself in my neck and growl or bark when we have company. She won’t even go on a walk without wanting to be held! My vet said she should grow out of it. We got her when she was 4 months old and it takes her much longer with men than it does women. Not sure what she remembers from the breeder! Maybe he didn’t treat her well. I giver her a calming aid with melotonin before we have company or we go anywhere. I hope she gets better!
