Severe heart failure in staffy need advice how long do they survive

Hi, we have a pitbull catahoula mix who was about 10 years old when he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He was initially on furosemide, then we added vetmedin, spironolactone, enalapril and eventually diltiazem. Jake’s been with us a year and two months since that diagnosis. He’s starting to suffer occasional collapses and is tired a lot. He’s still happy to see people but not overly energetic. Depends on cause of CHF. If you are not seeing a board certified Veterinary Cardiologist I would do so. Also for Kendra, I hope your baby is getting regular (every month) blood work. The enalapril is a great drug but can cause kidney problems. Also hope your Cardiologist knows about the collapses. Could be due to arrythmia.
