We are in the “app age” and that means there is literally an app for everything – even your dog. In fact, there are a quite a few useful and fun apps out there for dog lovers. #1 – BriskNow

This app (available for both ios and android) offers a unique alternative to pet sitting. People register for a a fee as either a pet owner ($10/mo.) or a pet borrower ($3/mo.).  They provide insurance, IDV verification, and tracking to make sure it’s a safe and easy. Then, all you have to do is find someone near you who wants to “borrow” your dog while you are a way. WoofTrax ‘s app, Walk for a Dog, available for free download on iPhone and Android, is a dog-powered fundraising tool for animals and shelters. Users can select from more than 7,000 shelters and rescues that have partnered with WoofTrax, to be the beneficiary of their walks. Each time the user opens the app to track a walk with their pet, Walk for a Dog logs and tracks the walk and designates funds to go to their specified shelter. This new app, launching July 10, is a vet app to help pet owners when they can’t get to the vet’s office. Vet24seven gives the pet owner a chance to consult with their veterinarian, or an available veterinarian in the Vet24seven network if they don’t have one, to help them decide what to do. It provides peace of mind for the animal owner when they need it the most, twenty-four hours a day. . Pet owners simply create their pet’s profile, pair their animal with their veterinarian of choice, select the level of urgency, and choose whether they want a live video or chat consultation. Photos and videos can be uploaded, and consultation documents will be stored in the Vet24seven cloud and accessible via a smartphone.
The average cost of a 10-minute consultation is expected to range between $40 and $60. The specific consultation fee is set by the selected veterinarian and is expected to be significantly lower and more convenient than the average in-office visit.
