There is so much cruelty in this world when it comes to animals and of course humans. Five newborn pups were abandoned beside a garbage bin in the snow-covered Shaw Park by two irresponsible puppy owners. The litter is only two days old.

The puppies were still connected to their umbilical cords when they were abandoned. Someone left them to perish on top of a thick layer of snow, hidden by two garbage containers.

The puppies were taken to a local shelter. They require their mother’s care, but the staff are doing all they can to feed them and assist them in surviving. The facility thinks the pups were not abandoned by their mother, but that the owners separated them from her violently.

The Clayton Police Department has expressed sadness and anger over the discovery of these pups, according to Corporal Jenny Schwartz. They are concerned about the mother dog and worry that she may be trapped in a bad situation. Some of the cops have offered to take care of the puppies as well.

The cops are still seeking any information that might assist them in locating and punishing the irresponsible owners. The owners will face charges ranging from misdemeanor animal neglect to felony animal abuse as a result of their negligence.
