He was diagnosed at 11 months at a level 3, and we were able to maintain his numbers until he was 3 1/2 when they just gave out, and he passed away at home.

We used to give our Rocky, Royal Canin Hepatic. He liked it and he lived for 3 years after the kidney issue started. He also got Omega 3.

We fed purina dry and can kidney food. She was also on prednisone. I tried homemade but couldn’t get her to eat it. tried to lower the prednisone but then she would quit eating… she was 5 when we found out and 7 when we lost her…. wish you the best

Kidney diets need to be low protein, low sodium, and low phosphates…my girl was diagnosed last year and put on Royal Canin renal support and mobility…she does great on it, and has actually seen her kidney values reverse back to almost normal levels…she’ll be 9 in a few months and is going strong!

My girl (Gabby) passed in august 22 of kidney disease. I tried Hills KD can. Different flavors and textures. She liked the Stew one better than the regular Finally she just gave up fighting but she’s fought long and hard. She was my BFF. It took her from 136 to 67 lbs. horrible.
